Volunteering

If you have sex work experience and are passionate about sex worker rights then we would love to hear from you!

SIN actively encourages and promotes a culture of volunteering. We foster and encourage volunteer satisfaction, including learning new skills and making professional and social contacts. Volunteering adds to the richness of SIN by involving a diverse range of sex workers in a variety of activities.

Some of the things you may do as a volunteer:

  • Research
  • Writing for SINmag
  • SINmag layout
  • Assisting with general resource production
  • Graphic design
  • Photocopying
  • Media Watch
  • Book reviews
  • Organising social events
  • Data collection
  • Mail outs
  • Assisting with outreaches and deliveries
  • Working in the SIN shop
  • Notice board
  • General Housekeeping

Everyone has something to offer and SIN provides ongoing training and professional development to all SIN staff and volunteers. So regardless of if you only have a few hours to spare each week, or you would like to dedicate a full day or two, we would love to hear from you.

SIN would like to acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide region, where we live and work, and recognise the Kaurna peoples’ cultural, spiritual, physical, and emotional connection with their land. We honour and pay our respects to Kaurna elders, both past and present, and all generations of Kaurna people, now and into the future. We acknowledge that this land was stolen, and sovereignty was never ceded.
